Good manners, good breeding, good sense -- all of these are invaluable in the world of politics and protocols, especially when one is expected to behave like a queen. This weekend marks the Diamond Jubilee, or 60th year, of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. She has endured war, the deaths of parents and siblings, being shot at repeatedly at close range, awakening to an intruder in her bed chambers, scandal concerning her children's private lives and criticism of her choice as to handle the tragic death of her grandchildren's mother, the Princess of the People, Diana. Throughout it all she has remained resilient and regal, rarely showing signs of the intense strain often put upon her.And while we may never know what goes on in the head of a queen, thanks to Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, we know exactly what goes on atop of it. Here is a quick overview of the queen's reign... via chapeaux.
